Outreach
CoRE-Math engages with schools, teachers, industry, public organisations and wider society to strengthen the connections between mathematics, education and societal needs. Outreach activities promote interest in mathematics, support mathematics education, and create opportunities for mathematical knowledge and methods to contribute to challenges outside academia.
Mathematics competitions
CoRE-Math organises and supports mathematics competitions to stimulate young people's interest in mathematics, encourage further study—particularly in mathematics and related disciplines—and identify and develop mathematical talent.
Schools and young people
CoRE-Math works with schools and young people through school visits, mathematics and science camps, career guidance and mentorship to encourage interest in mathematics and further study in mathematics and related disciplines.
Teacher training
CoRE-Math partners support mathematics teachers through training and collaboration with schools and mathematical organisations. Activities include work with teachers to strengthen mathematics teaching and improve opportunities for students.
Mathematics in industry and society
CoRE-Math connects mathematicians with companies, public organisations and other external partners to address problems outside academia. Industrial Mathematics is an important part of this work, bringing mathematicians and external organisations together through contact workshops and Study Groups with Industry. These activities can lead to further research and longer-term collaboration.
