Applied Mathematics for Earth Observation

The project supports collaboration between LUT University, the University of Rwanda and AIMS Rwanda in Applied Mathematics for Earth Observation.

Prof. Lassi Roininen of LUT University was awarded a €68,000 grant from the Finnish National Agency for Education (EDUFI) under the TFK programme. The project runs from August 2026 to December 2028.

The collaboration aims to strengthen joint research and mathematical expertise related to Earth observation and its applications to societal challenges. It also strengthens research links between Finland and Rwanda and collaboration with AIMS Rwanda.
