The Southern Africa Mathematical Sciences Association (SAMSA) 2025 Annual Conference will be hosted by Mulungushi University's Department of Mathematics and Statistics from November 25th to 28th, 2025, at the Avani Victoria Falls Resort in Livingstone, Zambia. On June 2 the 3rd edition of the East African Mathematical Olympiad took place. 10 countries participated in the competition: Ethiopia, South Sudan, Djibouti, Kenya, Tanzania, Uganda, Rwanda, Burundi, Zambia and Bhutan as special guest. The competition took place online but the University of Rwanda in Kigali acted as main coordination hub. The overall winner is Paul Angelo, from Kabianga School in Kenya. Congratulation, Paul!
Eight (8) MSc Mathematics/Statistics students from the Department of Mathematics and Statistics at the University of Zambia graduated on 23rd May 2025. All of them received support through EAUMP or EAALG, both of which are funded by ISP. This achievement is a testament not only to the students’ hard work but also to the collaborative support provided by all partners involved, from coordinators and supervisors to sponsors and program facilitators.
