The Global South Plan of the Faculty of Science is pleased to announce the first Fellowship Scheme for scientists from the Global South. The initiative will support four scientists to visit the faculty for a few months in 2026 to work with a local co-applicant. One fellowship is co-sponsored by CIMPA and it will be dedicated to mathematics. Deadline for application is November 15. Details and application form can be found here.

CoRE partner LUT University has been awarded a UNESCO Chair for promoting the digital transformation of society and the economy in Africa. Related projects led by LUT aim to alleviate poverty and advance equal access to digital education and health care services. Read here for more details.
Every year, ICTP and the Eastern African Universities Mathematics Programme (EAUMP) come together to organize a summer school on important mathematical topics. This year's edition took place in Rwanda and the topic was real and harmonic analysis.
