The French National Centre for Scientific Research (CNRS) has awarded funding to a new collaborative project, Mathematics in interaction with social, economic, environmental and AI-related issues.
Coordinated by Sophie Dabo (Université de Lille, France) and John Mango Magero (Makerere University, Uganda), the project brings together researchers from Uganda, Rwanda, Zambia, Kenya, Ethiopia and Tanzania.
The initiative is particularly relevant to CoRE-Math, whose African network includes institutions in all six countries. John Mango Magero is also Co-Lead of CoRE-Math.
